Types of EV Chargers
EV chargers deliver electricity to the on-board batteries of both all-electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). There are two main types of EV chargers: Alternating current (AC) chargers provide electricity to the vehicle via Level 1 and Level 2 chargers. Direct current (DC) chargers, also known as Level 3 fast chargers, provide electricity to the vehicle at a much faster rate (i.e. those found at on routes).

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you determine if my property is suitable for an EV charger installation?
A licensed electrical technician from our team will conduct a reconnaissance of your property to assess its suitability for EV charger installation. This includes evaluating your property’s electrical system, location, and specific energy requirements. After this assessment, we will provide you with a written quote outlining the feasibility and costs involved in the installation
What is the process for installing an EV charger at my home?
The process begins with a feasibility assessment by a licensed electrical technician. If it’s feasible, we will then obtain the necessary permits for the installation. Once the permits are issued, our electrician will complete the installation work and schedule an inspection with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) to ensure compliance and safety. After the inspection, your EV charger will be ready for use.
Why can't Sparky Mark install Level 3 - fast chargers on my property?
There are a couple of reasons why the team cannot install the Level 3 chargers. Firstly, our homes electrical panels cannot handle the high voltage. Secondly, there is a special certification required to work with direct current (DC) and insurance which currently our team does not offer.
